Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Dana Cop. Dana passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015, from breast cancer. Along with being a mother, wife, friend, and local business leader, Dana was an integral part in the building of our new canteen. Dana's husband, Peter, was a Director here at Hart for several years and all three of her children have played at Hart. All of us here at Hart consider Dana, Pete, and their children part of our family and always will. Memorial was held Friday, April 17, 2015.
Make Up Pictures for Individuals will be on April 25th on the Colt field from 2 to 4 P.M. Any questions, contact Natalie Schuler.
We changed the hours that the Canteen is open on April 1st have had to even close the completely on several days.
The reason why we had to do this is very simple - we are in desperate need of volunteers!!!
Did you know that the Hart Organization and Complex itself was built mostly from the help of volunteers?
Did you know that all of the Directors on the Board that you see walking around the complex, wearing the blue shirts every weekend and every night are volunteers?
Did you know that the people who work in the Batter's Box Store are volunteers?
And it follows that the entire crew that work in the Canteen, from the back office staff, to the Auxiliary Board Members, to the front window service people, are also volunteers.
Over the past few years, we have suffered a tremendous loss of helpful volunteers. It has become a challenge for us just to keep positions filled in order to keep the complex running.
One of our biggest loss has been volunteers in the canteen. Our Auxiliary Board has decreased and the number of parent volunteers working for their refund does not consistently meet our daily needs.
Thus, we are now at our wits end and out of ideas as to how to conquer this ongoing problem.
However, there is hope . You, yes you, can help get our canteen back on track and open more hours by doing 1 of 2 things (or both).
#1 - Come on into the back of the canteen, look through that pretty pink book we have on the counter, sign up for a shift and earn your $150 refund back. With the cut back in hours, the opportunities to work will only be four days a week instead of seven.
#2 - Come on in and talk to one of our Canteen Supervisors that work in the back office and find out how you can become an Auxiliary Board Member. Our Aux. Board play 2 major roles in the canteen - they cook our delicious Chili Cheese Fries (amongst other things) and they supervise the Parent Volunteers. There are perks to joining the Aux. Board, such as earning your entire registration fee back. Interested? Then come on in and talk with us.
Cutbacks will be in effect until we have enough parents step up to help. We hope that it will be for a very short duration.
Remember, Hart was built on the help of Volunteers, we have been in business serving the kids of Santa Clarita for over 60 years. Please help us in whatever capacity you can - every bit helps.
Every Spring we select the best players from each age division to represent Hart in Pony Sanction Tournament play. The first step in the selection process is to complete a Letter Of Intent and turn it in to your manager or Hart League official. There is travel involved and your child will be required to participate in tournaments every weekend from Memorial Day until their team is eliminated from competition. DO NOT submit a LOI if you have summer vacation plans or can't commit to play every weekend. Also, DO NOT submit a form if you are only interested in playing on certian teams or for certain managers. DO submit a form if you feel your child has what it takes to continue the Hart Tradition of Championships! Sanction play is highly competitive and there are no guarantees of playing time once selected for a team. Download the LOI and turn it in as soon as possible. Teams will be selected in May.
