
The Pony "A" Team got a taste of the upcoming sanctioned tournament in Santa Ynez over the weekend as teams from around our Section converged in a show of power. The local boys knocked homeruns into the double digits. When the dust settled the two powerhouses in the championship game were Hart and Bakersfield Southwest. Hart battled tough but couldn't put together an attack on the Bakersfield ace. Congratulations on a long hard weekend!
The Hart Pony Dodgers knocked off the top seed twice to grab the 2009 Pony Championship. Congratulations to Shane Diamond, Gerry Cashion, Angel Cardenas, Kevin Joseph, Tanner Williams, Derek Sibthorp, Jacob Ritz, Diego Girgado, Cody Drees, Daniel Joseph and Christian Medina. Great job by the coaching staff of Sean Diamond, Marty Ritz, John Sibthorp and Tomas Girgado. Congratulations also go out to the runner up Brewers! Great job teams!!!
The Hart Shetland White team played outstanding baseball in Palmdale over Father's Day. The team was crowned runner up at the Pre All-Star Tournament. They went 2-0 in pool play against Palmdale "A" and Sylmar "B". They rolled through IWV in the semis to face Sylmar "A" in the championship. The Hart team clung to a 11-11 tie going into the final inning, but fell short. Congratulations on a great tournament performance and good luck in sanctioned play!
Hart's Tournament Shetland "A" team won the Father's Day Duarte DYAC classic tournament going 4 - 0 against Charter Oak, Walnut 1 & 2. Team members are: 1st row: Niko Sacolles, Cameron Warr, Hayden Trowbridge, Jacob Starsmere, and Brandon Hodge. 2nd row: Colton Fitzgerald, Warner Rhodes, Jared Mumper, Nathan Martinez, Daniel Montalban, Victor Pico, Ryan Benz. 3rd row: Coach Shane Rhodes, Coach Rich Mumper, Coach John Pico, and Coach Eddie Sacollles. Congratulations team!!
Congratulations to the Tigers for their championship victory! Hard work paid off as these boys pulled off a win over the runner up Angels. The 2009 Champion Tigers are Niklas Bedell, Collin Cunningham, Brian Davison, Jack Dudeck, Jake Mennuti, Justin Stadt, Owen Strader, Kyle Suarez, Alex Wiesen, Danny Wlodychak and Brandon Wyre. Teams don't get this far without dedicated coaching. Hats off to the staff of Pablo Suarez, "Grampi" Suarez, Tom Strader and Mitch Stadt. Congratulations Tigers!!!

Hart Pinto Red continued their march towards sanctioned play this past weekend by capturing the Championship at Huntington Beach. Hart posted an undefeated record and 'jacked' 12 while outscoring their opponents 56 - 7. Next stop - Simi Valley. Roll on Pinto RED!!!

| Pony National Champions - 2009 |
The Angels sweep the Pony National playoffs in 4 games. Congratulations to the Angels players: Tyler Geissler, Alex Suarez, Conell McKinney, Zachary Hanks, Calvin Hom, Adam Marrs, Evan Beirold, Steven Morris, Cody Bennett, Mitchell Geier, Kristian Buendia. Manager, Paul Beirold and his coaches Jeff Geissler and Rich Marrs led the boys to a final 5-3 victory in a "freeway series" match-up with the Dodgers.
After posting a 15-1-1 record in the regular season, the Pinto National Astros stormed thru the playoffs to claim the 2009 season championship. Playing in a trial playoff format, the Astros faced off against the Dodgers in a best of three championship series. Congratulations to the Astros players – Jake Biscailuz, Carson Campuzano, Jacob Collier, Billy Edwards, Cole Edwards, Jarrett Farmer, Kyle Goodnight, Tyler Grodell, JD Hernandez, Joe Jacobellis & Kyle Smisko, manager Jason Edwards, and coaches Jim Biscailuz, and Scott Collier.

Home cooking paid off for this group of locals as the Hart Pinto Red tournament team romped through the brackets in our first Memorial Day tournament. Manager Jason Edwards led the team to decisive victories over the out of towners. Stay tuned for more updates as the team readies for sanctioned tournament play. Congratulations team!
In the first tournament of their post season run the Shetland "A" Team went 4-0 to capture the tournament championship in Simi Valley over Memorial Day weekend. The team posted victories over Simi, Kerman, Agoura and Newbury Park to earn the title. Congratulations to the boys and their coaches on a much deserved victory!

Congratulations to the Dirt Dawgs for winning the Pony 60/90 Championship. The team, led by manager Dan Sanchez, dominated both halves of the 20 game season. The league, comprised of the Dawgs, Quakes, Thunder, Sharks, Instinct and Bats was in it's test season here at Hart. The Dawgs held off attacks from the Bats and Quakes on playoff Sunday. Congratulations again to the Dirt Dawgs!
Wm. S. Hart Baseball and Softball will have our annual elections to the Board of Directors during the two week period from May 25th through June 14th, 2009.
Any League member in good standing can be nominated to the Board. Nominations will be accepted in the Canteen office through May 24th.

NOTICE: If you fail to show up for your volunteer shift, fifty dollars will be subtracted from your volunteer fee. These "no-shows" cause major problems for our canteen. PLEASE show up for your shift or come in and cancel at least a week in advance.
If you have signed up to work in the Canteen on a day that is rained out, you will need to come to the back of the canteen to reschedule.
